About Triangle Model Yacht Club
TMYC members build and race radio control model sailboats under the sanction of the American Model Yachting Association. TMYC is AMYA Club #28. Any RC sailboat is welcome, but organized races focus on the EC-12, Victoria and RC Laser classes, and if you want to race you will probably enjoy one of these classes most. An Open Class accommodates other types of boats. Classes are scored on a rotating basis, a different class each weekend.
New sailors are welcome – no RC or yacht racing experience necessary. The atmosphere is informal and friendly. If you want to race but don’t want to build a boat or buy a new one, club members will help you locate a used boat. If you are interested, please come by the lake and see us any Saturday morning. Club races are held most Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Lake Crabtree County Park near RDU airport. Take Exit 285 from I-40 and drive south to the park entrance; our course is near the cartop boat launch area. www.wakegov.com/parks/lakecrabtree
